Carlos MUNOZ YAGUE
Carlos Muñoz Yagüe was born in France. This Parisian, of Spanish and south-west of France descendancy, acquired a very early passion for images, science, arts, fashion and cinema. From 15 years old to 24, he used to alternate studies and periods of initiation on cinema sets.
Then, he directed few video-films. In 1986, for an exhibition in Paris, he directed the first movie made of archive clippings about Yves Saint Laurent, which was the beginning of his work on the French creator. In 1987, he
started to travel and to get a more personal approach through photojournalism.
He brought reports as well as portraits of famous people back from China, New-York, Madrid, Andalusia, Bulgaria, Cuba, Colombia, Senegal. And of course India where he went for several long visits on reporting. In the same time, he was also making photos for communication and advertisement businesses (fashion, perfumes, jewellery, hotels, art de vivre) and portraits of personnalities : Balthus, Erro, Paco Rabanne, Ozwald Boateng,
Olivier Lapidus, Christian Lacroix, Hedi Slimane, Yves Saint Laurent.
The work about the latter which started in 1986 reached its maturity with his backstage photos of the last défilé of Yves Saint Laurent Couture at the Centre Beaubourg in 2002. Before he had taken part in 1998 in a CD-ROM production called "Yves Saint Laurent 40 years of creation", and also had an exhibition organized during the "Mois de la Photo" in 98 in Paris and Copenhagen.
A part of his deepest works, about the Tzigane and Gypsy communities, has been compiled. This matter has been published and distributed in numerous publications and books.
As a third focus, sciences and medecine, drive him to various reporting fields : environment, archaeology, anthropology, as well as all natural and human sciences.
He goes on working and publishing his photographic reports and  portraits in daily newspapers and European magazines : Liberation, City, El Europeo, Le Monde, L¹evenement du jeudi, l¹Express, Actuel, Animan, Blanco y
Negro, Marie-Claire, Lo Specchio, Le Pèlerin, Ça m¹intéresse, VSD, Elle, Geo France, Géo Grèce, Sunday Times magazine, Airone, Sciences & Avenir, Eureka, le Figaro magazine, Point de Vue, Gala, Jalouse, Tribeca, National Geographic France.
At present, he¹s preparing a personal work on trees in relation to the human body.
