Second river of Europe after the Volga, the Danube, only carts with him more water than the Rhine, the Rhone, joined together Pô and Ebre. Mountains of the German Black Forest to the Black Sea, in Romania, it traverses more than 2850 kilometers and crosses Vienna, Budapest and Belgrade before coming to form its delta. Indicated in 1991 like Reserves Biosphere by UNESCO. It is a zone natural wet of exception, particularly productive, which shelters an original but fragile fauna and a flora. Today, on our planet, Lesdeltas play the part of true academies of the species and provide several essential functions for the men and their environment. In that, they constitute an inheritance with whole share, objects of scientific research and safeguard measures. If the deltas represent a potential of size for the man - fish, game, salt, reeds, pastures... -, this potential depends closely on measurements of conservation that those set up. Ambition posted for a long time: to make compatible protection of the species and of with the human, economic and social activities, and that well before the concept of development durable does not become a phenomenon of mode.
