Streets of Katmandou are under strikes against the authoritarian King Gyanendra that confiscates civil rights and suspends privileges since the 1st of February - rarely the country was being in such a state of chaos.
The agreement between the main seven opponed politics and the maoist rebels, that leads to a comun demand on recovering the democraty is indeed inefficient. The popular mobilization is going on in spite of the bloody represion : 10 rioters have been killed since the beginning of the month, more than 4 000 people arrested, as ONU said. So as to intend his salvation, the King Gyanendra asked the opponents to propone a name for the Prime Minister in a national televisual speech the 21st of February. He promised some elections.
