KEYSER France contact photographer • AFGHANISTAN: Women's jail in Kaboul
Those women are not criminal. But after being repudiated by their
husbands, they remarried, and were accused of being unIslamic. The Taliban
era is over, but they are still imprisoned. And tragically, they prefer to
stay behind bars. If they are released, they would be rejected by their
families and society, become homeless, and forced to turn to prostitution
to survive.
