Quay of Orsay: the heart of the French diplomacy is a private mansion built at the 19th century especially to receive the Large ones of this world, the hosts and the leaders of the friendly countries. The French Republic wanted thus to mark its hospitality and to show the power of what was at the time its colonial Empire. But they are also 10 centuries of relations with these neighbors, through the offices of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Files of the French diplomacy. These thousands of documents, peace treaties, correspondences of the ambassadors and consuls, delivers decoding, multilateral agreements, agreements of military or economic support, stress the importance of this building and tells the French history, these vicissitudes and the construction of the borders of the Middle Ages under Louis XI at our days with the treaties of the European Community.
