KEYSER France contact photographer • IRAN: Sex, drug an rock 'n' roll
The reelection of reformist president Mohammad Khatami in 2001 was seen as a sign of hope in Iran. But repression has not decreased, suffocating Tehran's youth. The wealthy ones, however, defy the Islamists' interdictions. Money can buy them alcohol, drugs and sex, but most of all, it keeps the bassiji, a hardline Islamist volunteer militia, looking the other way. Without this pay off, the young Iranians would risk whipping, jail or even death
