A civil war that does not say its name is rusting for 40 years one of the most developped and literated country of the whole latin America. Nowadays, in 2005, despite the Alvaro Uibe government and politics, the extrem biaised guerillas FARC/EP (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionaria de Colombia - Colombian Revolutionar Army Forces/Ejercito Popular) or the ELN (the National LIberation Army - Ejercito Nacional de Libéracion) and the paramilitaries from extrem right-edged self-defense : the AUC (Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia), keep on financing themselves thanks to criminality. Those clandestine armies buy their weapons et pay their combatants, thanks to the hostages ransom. More than 3 000 persons are thus hold on hidden camps in the jungle. Colombia is the country where are the most important number of hostages in the world, and the only means that exists for the family to diffuse a supporting message is standing by the broadcast "hostages radio", on phone. Other resources : racket, corrupted extortion (named "vaccine" ou "participation") required from population and salesman. Adding with the drugs traffic (cocain and heroin) that the currently divised "cartels" are not actually controlling anymore alone ; those traffics have passed under the guerillas and militia control. Last tendance : parade societies management, as hotels or public works companies. Those societies are proponed to achieve the re-construction of bridges or electric structures, that had made exploned the guerilleros owner of the former construction firms
